Guide to matching bags and shoes
Following the rules of etiquette and bon ton, shoes and bags should always be coordinated with the same color.
But now in this modern era things have changed, there are only a few exceptions in which we must abide by the rule of etiquette in which we must wear shoes and bags of coordinated color.
Usually the exceptions are two: the first is when we wear particular colors that are difficult to combine with others so in this case it is good to wear shoes and bags of the same color.
The second case is when we wear a dress in colored fantasy: in this case it is better to keep the same color bag and shoe to avoid the “harlequin” effect.
In the case in which instead we decide to wear a fancy footwear of various colors, it is good to bring a bag that takes a color present in the shoe and vice versa.
There are various occasions in which we can decide to wear shoes and bags of different colors, for example when we wear a neutral look like a total black dress or if we wear a basic look we can give the look a little liveliness by wearing shoes and bags of different colors.
A basic rule is not to combine bags and shoes of different seasons or contrasting materials.
